Natural Hair – Protective Style #1

Natural Hair – Protective Style #1

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been wearing my no stress tresses as my protective style and I must say that it has been a bit warm with the hot weather we are having! So, I was in need of alternatives…

Don’t get me wrong, I really do love my hairΒ (most days) and after chatting with some of my family who are also “natural”, I decided to challenge myself to create a few protective style on my natural hair! I saw a video on YouTube of a style called the Chunky Two-Strand Flat Twist Updo! I thought that it was beautiful so IΒ tailored the two-strand flat twist style to my naturally curly hair texture versus the straight/blown out hair seen in the video.

This style will keep me cool and cute this week! What do you think?

Wow, this style is so cute! I love the way it looks on you and I can’t wait to try it on myself! I just had a baby in December, so my hair care has been pushed to the back burner and I’ve let it go. This style is going to really help!

    • Natasha

Congrats on your little one and I’m so glad that you like this style! I know what you mean about letting your hair go…I did the same a few years ago after having our son. Take care!

  • chara neal

what is your hair type? i think we have the same hair texture. pretty

    • Natasha

Thanks so much Chara and thanks for stopping by! And according to the stylist that did my “big chop”, my hair type is 3C…a combination of S and corkscrew pattern. What’s yours?

  • I was googling protective styles for natural hair and I came across your page. What an absolutely lovely hairstyle, you have inspired me, thank you:)
